I had a great trip to Wellington to see the wearbale arts show. It was theatre, dance, art all rolled into one show.  In the last week of school we also modelled our own wearable arts creations – here are some of the photos – I was really proud of my classes focus, creativity and perseverence – they weren’t easy to make.

Card Stacking

Recently we got together with our Buddy class to stack cards.  It was tricky but a lot of fun.  Just when we thought we had got it sussed it would fall over or Mrs Barlow would accidently knock it down !! Very frustrating so we had to work closely with our buddy and show tolerance – the virtue we were practicing.

The Wedding in Mareno, Italy

My Uncle’s Wedding

Last week we went to Italy for my Uncle Tom’s and Aunty Caroline’s wedding. I was with my family, my cousins, my Aunties and Uncles and a few close friends. They got married in a beautiful church where lots of miracles had happened, in a place called Castle Gondolpho. Aunty Caroline looked wonderful in her beautiful dress. The guests were collected by bus from the hotel we all stayed in, called The Grand Hotel Helio Cabalio in Mareno. I was asked to read the Prayer of the Faithful at the Wedding Mass, I felt very special to do the reading. Everyone had a fun time at the wedding reception and my Dad was best man and he made a speech, with some really funny stories about my Uncle Tom. The food was lovely and while the Bride and Groom were cutting the cake there were huge fireworks that lit up the sky like rubies and diamonds, it was really exciting. There was lots of dancing and I burnt my Dad out on the dance floor. He was sweating like a waterfall by the end. I enjoyed the wedding so much that I got really tired and went to bed after midnight. It was a great wedding.

Production photos

We had an amzing week last week, completing three production shows.  All the classes did an amazing job of their individual items and when it was put together it looked incredible.  Well done Te Ao Hurihuri I am so proud of you – I had lots of comments about your item.  Congratulations.

Production Performance

Well done everybody – what an amazing show.  I was impressed with your enthusiasm, tolerance and timing of our dance moves.  You have worked hard and you deserved all that clapping.  I hope Brodee, Amy, Haelyn and Lovisa can make it tonight – we missed you .

Drumming video

We had a fantastic performance at school last week by a drumming group called Strike. Monty was lucky enough to perform with them.
