Hello Te Ao Hurihuri,
It’s Alex’s Mum here, Megan. Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say that Alex misses his class and Ohope Beach School very much. After having 5 weeks off school, he has his first day today. While you are studying emotions, Alex was very nervous and scared about starting a new school this morning, and his emotions were definately in play. My message to him was “he can handle it”, no matter what happens in his day he will be fine. I will let you all know how his first day goes, and I’m sure I’ll pick him up with a smile on his face. I hope you are all smiling. We are enjoying Sydney so far. It is a very big and very busy place. We are slowly settling into a great house. We have a great front and back yard and have a great location. We are experiencing lots of new things, like different cultures, obviously different size of town/city, different places to explore, and the new task of making new friends and meeting new people. We haven’t seen any creepy crawlies or snakes yet – although Alex has been searching!! We will keep you posted. Have a great day. Megan James.
We are a Year 3 and 4 class in a little beach town called Ohope. Its on the East Coast of New Zealand. We are 7 and 8 year old children who are lucky to have a beach straight across the road from school.
